Israel claims France is anti-Semitism due to covered display at weapons expo
Israel has strongly criticized France for preventing several Israeli defense companies from fully exhibiting their weapons at the Paris Air Show, calling the action discriminatory, politically motivated, and anti-Semitic.
French officials instructed organizers to place black partitions around the booths of Israeli arms manufacturers, including Israel Aerospace Industries, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Elbit Systems, UVision, and Aeronautics. The move was based on accusations that these companies broke an agreement not to showcase “offensive weapons,” such as those used in Gaza.
Among the covered exhibits were air-to-surface missiles and drone models from Elbit and Bluebird Aero Systems. However, smaller Israeli stands without visible equipment and the Israeli Ministry of Defense booth remained open.
The French Foreign Ministry defended the decision, stating its position was consistent: while supporting Israel’s defense efforts—including its contribution to the Iron Dome—France cannot allow the promotion of offensive weapons on its soil.
Israel’s Defense Ministry slammed the action as blatantly anti-Semitic and accused France of trying to shield its own arms industry from Israeli competition. Israeli President Isaac Herzog also condemned the decision, describing it as “outrageous” and likening it to creating an “Israeli ghetto.”
The Paris Air Show, held at Le Bourget, hosts over 2,400 companies from 48 countries. The event’s organizers said they are working toward a resolution that satisfies all parties.
This controversy arises amid ongoing missile exchanges between Israel and Iran and rising global concern over Israel’s operations in Gaza. Recently, Israel struck Iranian-linked sites, killing senior military officials, while Tehran claims hundreds of civilian casualties in retaliation.
